When I started my Instagram account I had a vague idea of a themed feed, which would also kind of serve as a signpost to my shop. At which point I didn’t have much of an idea what the shop itself would be about. I took pictures of nature (TREES) & of the ways I weave my witchcraft into my daily life. Several things happened that I had not expected: first of all I started to really like taking pretty pictures! This despite the fact that I’d never really bothered with photography, too fiddly & you’d need expensive stuff, right? Which has all changed of course with the advent of the smartphone.
Looking through a lens at the stuff I did taught me new things & seeing how I inspired others gave me more confidence. This was a real surprise to me, as I had feared that I would get stuck at the surface, the pictures. But no, making them & putting into words what I felt about them has really helped me to grow & to go deeper really quickly, as a diviner & as a witch. A kind of journal if you will. I also rolled into a wonderfully friendly community & met quite some new, real friends.
Another thing that happened was that I started selling quite a number of online tarot & charm readings. It was great to see that my readings & workings could really help people & that my reports developed almost into works of art.
So it seemed a logical next step to start a proper blog & start writing in earnest. I love writing (especially short bits), high time to get going with it, no? And at the same time have a proper shop, a proper newsletter, in short: My Own Proper Witchy Website With Everything In It. And here it is! Welcome!
What can you expect me to write about? At this point I reckon it will be more elaborate musings about the things I have to be concise about on Instagram. Things on my mind, things I’m developing, maybe some bursts of poetry. Also some pieces I’ve written earlier, the occasional review, introductions to new products or offerings, life as a witch, historical witchcraft, folklore, nature, the state of the world. We’ll see. I’m very excited & I hope you’ll enjoy this new journey with me!
